Rubber-Lined Pump Casings

Used for wear- and corrosion-resistant pumps such as slurry pumps and desulfurization pumps. Includes components like impellers, sleeves, guard plates, and volutes, lined with wear-resistant rubber (e.g., natural rubber, high-abrasion-resistant rubber).

    Common rubber flow-through components include:

    ●Volute (Casing):
The pump's outer casing, which converts the kinetic energy of the fluid into pressure energy.

    ●Impeller:
The core component of the pump that rotates and transfers energy to the fluid.

    ●Front Liner (Shell):
Located at the front of the impeller, it protects the pump body from wear.

    ●Back Liner (Frame Plate Liner):
Positioned at the rear of the impeller, it works together with the front liner to form the wear chamber.

    ●Suction Liner:
    Located at the pump's inlet.

    Product Features

    1. Abrasion Resistance:
The primary feature. The elastic nature of the rubber allows it to absorb the impact of abrasive particles, resisting wear far better than bare metal or hard coatings.

    2.Corrosion Resistance:
Highly resistant to a wide range of corrosive chemicals, acids, alkalis, and slurries, depending on the elastomer type used.

    3. Elastomer Variety:
Different rubber compounds are used for specific duties:

●Natural Rubber (NR): Excellent for handling abrasive slurries and neutral fluids.
●Neoprene (CR): Good all-purpose resistance to oils, fuels, and moderate chemicals.
●Nitrile (NBR): Superior resistance to oils, fuels, and hydrocarbons.
●Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM): Excellent for strong acids, alkalis, steam, and hot water.
●Butyl Rubber (IIR): Highly resistant to strong acids and alkalis, with low permeability.
●Hard Rubber (Ebonite): Provides exceptional resistance to abrasion and many corrosive chemicals.

    4.Adhesion:
The lining is chemically or vulcanization-bonded to the metal substrate (typically cast iron or carbon steel) to prevent peeling or delamination under pressure and vacuum.

    5. Smooth Surface:
The rubber surface is non-stick and smooth, which reduces friction, prevents scaling and buildup, and improves flow efficiency.

    5. Impact Resistance:
The rubber lining can absorb shock and dampen noise and vibration from the pumping process.

    Application

    ● Mining and Mineral Processing

    ● Chemical Processing

    ● Power Generation

    ● Industrial Wastewater Treatment

    ● Steel and Metalworking

    ● Pulp and Paper Industry

    ● Dredging

    Advantages

    1.Extended Service Life:
Dramatically reduces wear on expensive pump components, leading to longer intervals between replacements and lower lifetime costs.

    2. Reliability in Harsh Conditions:
Provides dependable performance in the most demanding applications where standard metallic pumps would fail quickly.

    3. Noise Reduction:
The rubber lining acts as a sound dampener, resulting in quieter pump operation compared to all-metal pumps.
