Absolutely. This requires a bidirectional dust and water exclusion seal. A standard single-lipped seal primarily contains internal fluid. For bearing protection from contaminants, you can choose: 1) Oil seals with an auxiliary dust lip, which adds an outer lip to block external contaminants; or 2) Double-lip compound seals with inner and outer lips for containing fluid and excluding contaminants, offering more robust sealing against mud and water. This is common in off-road vehicle axle seals and agricultural machinery drive shaft seals.
