The Testing That Separates Quality from Guesswork
Compression Force Measurement
We mount each fender in a hydraulic press and compress it at 70 ± 5 mm/min to specified percentages of original height. Force is recorded at each compression level. The reaction force vs. deflection curve must fall within ±5% of design specifications. This test validates that the fender will absorb the promised energy.
Energy Absorption Calculation
Using the force-deflection curve, we integrate to calculate energy absorption at design compression. If the fender absorbs less energy than specified, it will not protect your dock. If it absorbs more but with higher reaction force, it may transfer excessive load to the vessel or quay.
Compression Set Measurement
We compress a test specimen to a fixed height at specified temperature and time, then measure permanent deformation. High compression set means the fender will lose its shape—and its protection—over time.
Visual and Dimensional Inspection
Every fender is inspected for surface defects: voids, bubbles, cracks, exposed steel. Dimensions are checked against drawings. Any deviation triggers rejection or rework.
