The Delamination Mechanism: When Rubber and Cord Part Ways

A rubber track is a composite structure: multiple rubber layers with embedded cord reinforcement. The cords provide tensile strength; the rubber provides flexibility and wear resistance. The bond between rubber and cord is critical. If the bond fails:

  • Cord pull-out: The cord slides within the rubber, losing reinforcement function.
